Liu Youfa Non-Resident Senior Fellow
Introduction

Dr. Liu previously served as Ambassadorial Consul General of China to Mumbai, Republic of India, Vice President at China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), Minister Counselor at the Embassy of the PRC in the United States (2004-2007). He also served consecutively at the Chinese Embassies in Australia (1988-1989), Papua New Guinea (1989-1993), Tanzania (1998-2001), Ethiopia (2001-2003), and the United States (2004-2007).

He graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University with BA in English, graduated from BYU in the United States in 1983 with BA in History and Government, and graduated from Nankai University with Ph.D. in economics in 2001.  

Dr. Liu is currently the guest research fellow at Shanghai Institutes of International Studies, guest professor at National Defense University, member of the Council for Promoting South-South Cooperation. He is a frequent participant at international conferences and forums and has been writing extensively for newspapers, magazines, journals, etc.

Dr. Liu is the author of International Trade, International Finance, Guidelines on Investing in Africa, etc.
