On December 28-29, 2021, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) hosted the Ninth Meeting of the CICA Think Tank Forum with the theme “A New Beginning for Rebuilding Mutual Trust in the Post-pandemic Era: Trends and Missions”. President of SIIS Prof. Chen Dongxiao, Executive Director of the Secretariat of CICA Amb. Kairat Sarybay, and Chinese Amb. Xiao Qinghua, delivered opening remarks at the Meeting.

The Meeting was participated by scholars from over 14 countries. More than 60 representatives from the embassies and think tanks of the CICA member countries also sat in on the Meeting. The invitees had in-depth discussions on the security challenges to CICA Member States in the post-pandemic era, cooperation among CICA Member States on security in the digital era, and views of CICA think tanks on the transformation and upgrade of CICA, etc.
