On Jan 13th 2021，SIIS President Chen Dongxiao made a keynote speech at an online dialogue on China-US relations co-hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament(CPAPD) and Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Other Chinese participants included Xu Bu, President of China Institute of international studies, Yuan Peng, President of China institutes of Contemporary international relations, Xu Jian, President of China Foreign Affairs university etc. American participants included Graham T. Allison, former Assistant Secretary of Defense of the US, Susan Thornton, Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, and Daniel R. Russel, former Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs etc. The two sides had a discussion on China-US relations under the incoming Biden administration.
