SIIS Co-organizes a Special Session of U.S.-China Dialogue on the Global Economic Order

On December 11, 2020, the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) co-organizes a special online session of U.S.-China Dialogue on the Global Economic Order in collaboration with the Center for Strategic &International Studies (CSIS) and the International Economics and Finance Institute of Ministry of Finance (IEFI). SIIS President Chen Dongxiao, Mr. Matthew Goodman, Senior Vice President for Economics and Simon Chair in Political Economy of CSIS, Ms. Ye Jiandi, Deputy Director General of IEFIdelivered opening remarks.Mr. Zhu Guangyao, Former Vice Minister of Finance, Professor Li Daokui, Director of the Center for China in the World Economy, Tsinghua University, Professor Yu Yongding, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) participated in the meeting. American speakers included: Kevin Nealer and Thomas D. Gallagher, Principals of The Scowcroft Group, and Nathan Sheets,Chief Economist and Head of Global Macro Research, PGIM Fixed Income. Over thirty Chinese and American scholars attended this meeting and had an in-depth discussion on the Biden administration’s economic policy, dual circulation, the 14th Five-Year Plan and its global implications. Dr. Shao Yuqun, Director of Institute for Taiwan, Hongkong & Macao Studies of SIIS, Dr. Ye Yu, Assistant Director of Institute for World Economy Studies of SIIS, Dr. Wang Yuzhu and Dr. Xue Lei, Research Fellows of Institute for World Economy Studies of SIIS joined the discussion.
