On July 28, 2020, SIIS and the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) (Iran) co-held a webinar on “Iran, China and the World under the Pandemic”. SIIS President Chen Dongxiao and IPIS President Kazem Sajjadpour delivered opening and closing remarks.

Scholars from China and Iran had an in-depth discussion on China-Iran relations under the pandemic and regional affairs in East and West Asia. Prof. Sun Degang from Fudan University, Dr. Jin Liangxiang, senior research fellow of the Institute for International Strategic Studies, Dr. Xue Chen, research fellow of the Institute for International Strategic Studies, and Dr. Zhang Jian, research fellow of the Institute for Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macao Studies delivered speeches. Dr. Ye Qing, SIIS Assistant President chaired one session of the webinar. Amb. Kuang Weilin, former head of the Mission of China to the African Union, Dr. Wu Chunsi, Director of the Institute for International Strategic Studies, and Dr. Liu Xin, research fellow of the Center for West Asian & African Studies attended the webinar.
