The Third Conference of CICA Non-governmental Forum was held in Chongqing from December 18 to 19, 2019.The theme of the conference is “A Vision for CICA: Building an Asian Community of Shared Destiny”. Xia Baolong, Vice President of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, served as the chairman of the conference and delivered the keynote speech at the opening ceremony. Apart from the opening ceremony and the plenary session, roundtable panels were held in the forum’s framework, with the topics of Security Situation and Security Architecture in Asia, International Information Security, Comprehensive Connectivity, Environmental Protection and Media Cooperation.

The Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) hosted the roundtable on Security Situation and Security Architecture in Asia with the theme “Asian Security Cooperation: A Region in Transformation and Missions Ahead”. Prof. Chen Dongxiao, President of SIIS, delivered opening remarks at the meeting. The roundtable was participated by scholars from India, Turkey, South Korea, UAE, Malaysia, Pakistan, Qatar, and China. The invitees had a discussion on the assessment of Asian security situation, and missions for Asian security cooperation, etc.
